If it has been awhile since you were able to truly feel and see the results of a great running lawn mowing experience, then you certainly need to learn something about the air flow process in that important Kohler engine. We are not going to limit this Kohler Engine Parts discussion on just the best lawn and garden engines in the industry, as that would not serve you well or at all just in case you are the proud owner of a different manufacturer of small engines. This airflow importance posting is aimed at all of you hard working turf and garden people out there in the United States!
Adequate Air Flow Mandates a Great Cut
What a dirty, unkept and unchecked air cleaner can do to a great engine, even a Kohler Engine, is to choke off the power that this engine needs to produce a beautiful turf-trimming job. Most engines utilize a paper filter and these can become easily clogged up with lawn and soil pickups. The best way to prevent the engine from doing what it was and is made to do, and at an optimum level and operational one at that is to ignore the air filter. The favored method for keeping the engine breathing properly the way it should is to regularly inspect the filter. If it looks beyond what a pressurized-force of air can clean out, then it is time to replace that inexpensive but all-important part.
